This month’s Timely Tip is regarding the importance of not installing coin mechs and bill acceptors while power is still applied to the vendor (hot plugging).
The units pictured on the left are MDB (multidrop bus) and this month’s Timely Tip applies to all models of coin mechs and bill acceptors for all manufacturers.
Hot plugging units can:
- Cause units to short out
- Short out control boards
- Sometimes cause enough damage to make units un-repairable.
- Void factory warranty and our CSI warranty
Please be sure to remind your technical personnel to always turn off power to the vendor when removing and installing coin mechs and bill acceptors. Its an unsafe practice to hot plug units.
